How the Camp Keeper values these plates →A woman works at the entrance to a Cree tipi at the edge of the forest.
These are Western Woods Cree — Canadian Natives. The tipis are canvas, not hide: by the 1920s, canvas had replaced buffalo hide across most of the continent. The near tipi carries a circular painted design on its surface. One figure kneels at the entrance. Research places this photograph at Lac Des Illes in Meadow Lake Provincial Park in Saskatchewan.
